Tickloop Privacy Policy

Effective 31 October 2026 · Applies to the Tickloop app for Android (package app.tickloop)

The short version. Tickloop has no ads and no analytics, and you don't need an account. Your bills and income stay on your phone. Only if you choose to sign in with Google is a copy kept in your account, so you can get it back on a new or reset phone. Only if you create or join a household are the household's bills, the names you give, and anything you choose to share stored online, so the people in your household can see them. We never sell data or use it for anything else.

1. What stays on your phone

Unless you sign in with Google (section 3), everything you enter for yourself stays in the app's private storage on your device: your bills, amounts, due days, categories, income, payday settings, ticks, history and reminder settings. It is not sent to us or anyone else. Android's own backup may include it if you have device backup turned on; that backup is handled by Google under your Google account and its terms.

2. Households (optional)

If you create or join a household, Tickloop uses Google Firebase so the members' phones stay in sync. In that case the following is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, in the European Union (multi-region eur3):

DataWhyWho can see it
A random anonymous ID for your copy of the app (Firebase Anonymous Authentication). No email, phone number or name is needed. To know which household you belong to.Not shown to anyone.
The name you type in as your household name.So members know who is who and who ticked a bill.Members of your household.
Household bills: names, amounts, due days, how often they repeat, categories, how they are split, and which member ticked them and when. A history of up to 12 past pay periods. The shared checklist.Members of your household.
The household's invite code, payday rule and currency.Joining and running the household.Members of your household. Anyone you give the code to can join.
Only if you turn on "Share all my bills and income": your own bills, income, payday rule and ticks. So your household can see them.Members of your household (read only).

Security rules on the server only let members of a household read or change it. A member who is removed loses access, and the invite code is replaced. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Firebase is provided by Google. Google processes this data on our behalf; see the Firebase privacy and security information. Like any server, Google's systems see your device's IP address when the app connects.

3. Sign in with Google (optional)

You can sign in with your Google account in Settings, so your data comes back if you reinstall the app or get a new phone. If you do:

4. Deleting your account

In the app: Settings › Google account › Delete account. This deletes your saved copy and your sign-in from the server straight away, and takes you out of your household. Without the app (for example if you no longer have the phone), ask us to delete it using the contact in section 12, and give the email address you signed in with. We delete the account and all its data within 30 days. Nothing is kept afterwards, except what section 8 says about household history.

5. Fonts

When your phone is online, the app loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and basic browser information for that request, as described in the Google Fonts privacy FAQ. No other information is sent. Offline, the app uses your phone's own fonts.

6. Reminders and permissions

Tickloop does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, files or other apps. When you share an invite code, Android's share sheet hands the text to the app you pick (for example WhatsApp or Messenger); what that app does with it is governed by its own policy.

7. What we don't do

8. Keeping and deleting your data

9. Your rights

If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Household and account data is processed to provide the features you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example IMY in Sweden.

10. Children

Tickloop is a budgeting tool meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
